Sun, Sand and lots of Waves...

While other California cities are already seeing the start of snow on their horizon, here in San Diego it has been feeling like it's summertime...and we're almost in November!

If you are an avid follower of my  blog, you may recognize these adorable kiddos. I've shared Jack, Maggie and Katie's portraits quite a bit in the past year. The first one was a maternity session at this very spot, then a newborn session, another one at the park and one at the flower fields and symbolically marking little Katie's first birthday, back at the beach...where my relationship with this family began!

The tide was incredibly high which made for some pretty incredible wave watching. Toward the end of the session, we were up on the cliffs and I was capturing a tender moment between father and son as they looked out to sea. I saw the photo op and waited for the wave to hit the cliff. Well, it did...and I captured a pretty cool moment...and a millisecond later, I was drenched from head to toe! Scroll down all the way to the bottom of this post to check out the last photo I took before the ocean bathed me in salt water! My wonderful client was taking photos of us and she happened to capture the moment I was drenched by the massive wave. Check it out!

And finally, I'd like to wish Maggie a very happy birthday. She will be celebrating her 4th birthday tomorrow! YAY!!!

So here is my client's photograph of me snapping away....only you can't see me because I am under all that water! If you look closely, you can see a bit of the red on my camera strap in the lower third of photo. Well, aside from cooling me off (it was so hot), it has made for a good story!
