A Golden Desert Sunset...

During the months of November through April, we along with a pretty huge group of friends, make monthly trips out to the desert. We all take our Rhinos and motorcycles and ride in the sand dunes and have a lot of fun. Boulder's first time in the desert was when he was just a 3 1/2 month old pup. Naturally, he loves it out there. These photos were taken on the last trip of this season the day before the rest of the group arrived. It was desolate, quiet and peaceful out there. It had been raining all day and the sky was cloudy and dark. Then, just as the sun started to set, there was a break in the clouds and the most incredible, golden light seemed to light everything on fire. I had never seen anything like it out in the desert. It was magical and invigorating. Almost like the desert's way of saying, "Farewell...see you next season". And what a gorgeous farewell it was...
